Why corps matter in Cyberpunk
Corporations are the dominant power in the Cyberpunk setting. They own entire districts, fund their own armies, and treat employees as long term assets at best. The executives at the top are not just bureaucrats. They are the people approving black ops, signing off on prototype implants, and shaping the city skyline one acquisition at a time. A good corp name carries weight because someone like that is attached to it.
How the generator builds names
Each entry combines a personal name, a corporate style title, and a division. Expect results like Vice President of Strategic Acquisitions Mira Holloway, or Senior Director of Biotech Operations Daichi Ogata. The titles are deliberately polished and slightly sterile, the kind of language that makes a layoff sound like a calendar event. The divisions hint at what the executive actually does when the cameras are off.
Using executives in your stories
For fan fiction, an executive is an excellent antagonist who never has to throw a punch. They send fixers, sign warrants, and ruin lives by email. For tabletop campaigns, generate a small roster of executives across rival corps and let the players slowly map their rivalries. A single overheard name can become a season long arc when the players realize who they have been working for.
Tips for the right kind of suit
Match the title to the threat level you want. A Vice President is enough for most local plots. A Chief Officer or Board Member belongs to a story where the stakes are continental. Keep their public personas calm and forgettable, then let the players uncover the messy parts. The more reasonable an executive sounds in a press release, the more frightening they tend to be in person.
Naming Your Boardroom Baron
What kind of executive are you creating? Consider these points:
- Does the name convey authority and influence within a mega-corporation like Arasaka or Militech?
- Should it sound traditional and established, or cutting-edge and innovative?
- Does it reflect their corporate culture – are they a stoic operations head or a flashy marketing guru?
- How will this name command respect and fear in the corporate hierarchies of Night City?
- Could it hint at their department, their specialty, or a dark secret from their rise to power?
