Skip the Blank Page
This exercise solves the blank page problem. Starting is often the hardest part of writing, and First Line Continuation removes that obstacle entirely.
Beyond getting started, this teaches you to work with established tone and voice. The opening line sets expectations, and you must follow through.
The Opening Is Provided
An opening line appears on screen—intriguing, evocative, already in motion. Something like 'The letter arrived three days after the funeral.'
Your job: continue the story. Where do you take it? What happens next?
When you finish, you can request another first line and start fresh.
